Yeah! Another remix of an old PORTISHEAD favourite, this one does lend it’s hand to the genre, the drum machine opening the door to a remix.
With the Soundcloud genius allowing you to comment on the track at hand, some of the 70+ comments included: ‘So huge’, ‘NAS-TAY’ and ‘o.O the beat omg’, this is a rather close indication of the song at large. Filthy beats that stray from the realms of platitudinous repetition, simple, elegant production that stays structurally true to the original.
There is definitely something lacking here, not real drums or guitars or… Oh yeah, it’s Beth Gibbons’ beautiful vocals, and yes there are hints though the absence of these idiosyncratic yet serene lyrics, a fissure is carved through the song.
