Live Review: Fortunes drop smooth remix of Penthouse & Maribelle's 'About You'

The New Zealand born, Melbourne based R&B duo of Conor McCabe and Barnaby Matthews, Fortunes have come out with a smooth new remix to the track 'About You' by Penthouse Penthouse and Maribelle.

The remix is great because it not only contains the added vocals of Conor McCabe along with Maribelle but it also contains new production by Barnaby Matthews who creates a smoother version of the production compared to the original while maintaining a similar groove. The production was done very well by utilising the sounds that Fortunes are normally on, smooth synths with nice heavy kick drums.

The vocals added in by Conor McCabe are great, he adds in a verse and does his own version of the main hook for a short bit before the vocals return to Marabelle. During the verses McCabe's vocals go between rapping and singing which is not only lovely sonically but also shows a lot of technical skill.

There's no shortage of talent when it comes to Fortunes, lets hope they keep up the habit of releasing more new music.
