Following the release of her latest uplifting single, 'Nabi' producer Peggy Gou has returned with another feel good house tune
Following the release of her latest uplifting single, 'Nabi' released just last month, Berlin based, South Korean DJ and producer Peggy Gou has returned with another feel good house tune, this time by way of 'I Go'. In the past two years, Peggy Gou has gone from cult followed underground DJ, to now universally adored international star.
Her 2019 breakthrough release, 'Starry Night' featured a fusion of rhythmic house with deep percussive elements with electronic pop, inspired by 80s and 90s synth classics from Korea. Since then she's taken over the globe with her stunning live act, however, she once again does not drop the ball on the production side. Gou now has her very own record label, she's hosted a mini-festival in London, 'Pleasure Garden' and of course her fashion label, Kirin, in association with Virgil Abloh.
The follow up single slightly dials up the tempo, kicks and 909s, hinting at a summer soundtrack where we can all hopefully dance together in our thousands again. As always with Peggy Gou, the track is a lesson in hope, positivity and good energy. Having all been through so much in the past 18 months, the track creates a moment to look forward, to face the negativity in the world and accepting that it exists, while knowing it will be overcome. The track features her always infectious vocal line, combining with stabby percussion, sharp string sections and euphoric melodic elements. As the track reaches its latter half, the tracks organic and electronic elements mould perfectly, creating a humble, yet brooding dance tool.
