Live Review: LISTEN: Paces 'Can't Touch Me' ft. Madeline Vida

Producer/DJ Mike Perry brings the goods with his latest Paces track, the damn catchy 'Can't Touch Me' featuring Madeline Vida.

When Gold Coast’s Mike Perry isn’t operating as one half of DJ/Producer duo SURECUT KIDS, he’s busy killing the music scene with his solo work as PACES.

Perry sure knows how to leave his mark, what with his bootlegs and remixes ranging from CHILDISH GAMBINO to PARACHUTE YOUTH, re-works that often become distinct and sometimes even challenging their original counterparts. Despite this, the producer also comes out with the goods when it comes to his original tracks and his latest offering is nothing short of damn great, a sweet little number that goes by the name of ‘Can’t Touch Me’.

Featuring Madeline Vida on vocals, the track intricately utilises sonic textures; booming bass, finger snaps, sleek synths, those kalimbas and the sass that simply oozes as Vida’s voice glides over her lines. The song also employs a short rap burst towards the end, of course never forgetting those ridiculously bop-inducing electro hooks and that sneaky underlying groove.
