Live Review: Oscar Oscar is an artist in full bloom with new single 'See Myself'

In a genre that is anchored entirely in electricity, it can be difficult to make something that sounds so natural that it could've sprouted from the earth. Not to say that electronic artists should be aspiring for that sound in the first place, but when that seed begins to sprout it isn't long before herds of people crowd around it to watch it bloom. In the case of OSCAR OSCAR's stunning offering in 'See Myself', this flower cannot bloom quick enough.

With OSCAR OSCAR very much being the captain of this ship, having written, produced, sung and instrumented on the track, he is solely to praise for the silky smooth flow of 'See Myself'. It's the type of song you can put on a Sunday afternoon to wane off last night's hangover, but it's also the type of song you can put on at 2am to get you through that bottle of red. A beautiful duality exists in 'See Myself' that is seldom achieved, in that it is both hopeful and hopeless.

The track is so lush and warm it feels like a sonic blanket weaving its way around you, hugging you tighter as the track flows on. With each extension of synths and the way they intertwine with Oscar Oscar's spectacularly subtle vocal delivery, we're lulled into comfort. This is a soundtrack to an emotional growth, but once Oscar Oscar reaches that full blossom at the end of 'See Myself', you'll never skip on smelling the roses again.
