Sydney producer Oh Boy has teamed up with Imbi the Girl for 'You See Me' - a stripped back electro-pop bop full of good vibes.
NZ born, Sydney raised producer OH BOY has slowly but surely been making a name for himself in Australia's electronic music scene. His first cut of 2018 sees him teaming up with IMBI THE GIRL for 'You See Me', a laid back and glittery electro-pop banger.
2017 saw Oh Boy as a quirky alternative in the electro-pop game, collaborating with Brisbane icon Mallrat for 'Rush Hour' and 'Bunny Island' which did the rounds on Triple J and FBi, as well as topping Spotify charts. 'You See Me' is the first taste of new material which Oh Boy will debut live supporting Nicole Miller on her national tour in June.
'You See Me' delights straight away, with iconic 909 half-step hats leading the way to a mellow synth progression and and Imbi the Girl's stripped back vocals. Apart from some gorgeously sidechain heavy interludes and a few additional synth and percussion here and there parts the track doesn't get too crazy, instead letting you relish in layers of interlocking percussion and Imbi's vocals. Quality over quantity is the name of the game here; there's not a lot of elements but every one is polished to be as groovy and catchy as possible.

'You See Me' sees Oh Boy distilling his unique craft into a short but sweet electro-pop package, and he definitely pulls it off. Where 'Rush Hour' 'Bunny Island' were densely packed, 'You See Me' is a bop in it's purest form. With every track Oh Boy drops, he's showing more and more facets of his music, and outdoing himself every time.
