Live Review: LISTEN: New Navy 'Regular Town' (Baio Remix)

Baio, who you may recognise as Chris Baio bassist of Vampire Weekend, has his second EP coming out through Future Classic on October 28.

Recognise the name BAIO? Yeah, I thought you might. It's the last name of VAMPIRE WEEKEND bassist Chris Baio and, funnily enough, the name of his solo project.

BAIO's most recent release comes in the form of a NEW NAVY remix. It's a fun, summer-y tune that I know you'll put on repeat for the next few months. It's smooth, yet eerie synths open the 'Regular Town' remix before breaking out the tribal drums and tropical synths that I mentioned earlier.

Last year, BAIO released an EP called Sunburn, which actually is more of a tropical hip-hop release, mixing the two influences really well. Now, there is a forthcoming EP, Mira, which is to be released internationally on October 28 through Future Classic. Yep, our very own Australian label will be releasing BAIO's second EP, and judging from his last offering, we can expect some brilliant tracks.

VAMPIRE WEEKEND are currently touring the US with support from SKY FERRIERA.
