Ta-Ku and Mr Carmack started jamming one day and somehow after two weeks, they had a track they were able to release.
When a friendship or admiration for someone's creative work evolves into a collaboration it's always an interesting experience.
When MR CARMACK got together with Perth producer TA-KU recently, both guys didn't expect a full collaboration to emerge from their jam. MR CARMACK wrote a nice message on his Souncloud page that explained the song which they decided to call 'Miss You Most (At Night)':
"A simple song that started out as a great experimental beat, then turned into an early morning "joke" track, then turned into an actual attempt at a song, then turned into one of the best collaborative experiences I've had to date. The whole process spanned across the past two weeks. viva taku!"
Many collaborations are planned because one artists loves the music of another and they email snippets until their have a full track to share, however this precess was different because MR CARMACK and TA-KU bonded as friends before the song even became an idea. Many tracks tend to turn out better if you have fun with it and 'Miss You Most (At Night)' is one of those great tracks that was sparked by a bit of fun.

Opening with some high distorted vocals, 'Miss You Most (At Night)' has a very brief introduction before we are brought into a very soulful track that has a lot of hip-hop influence seeping through it's melody. The distorted vocals make that track sound less like a ballad USHER could have recorded and we instead have more of a steady electronic track. Swift percussion pops in and out of the track and swirling synths tend to stay put throughout the song's duration, making things sound moodier than we would have expected. This is a song that has a very relaxed structure which no doubt stems from the relaxed recording process. The final product of an afternoon jam has definitely shined and this is a wonderful track to get you through the week.
With MR CARMACK still on his large tour and TA-KU working on his album, we've been very lucky to receive this exclusive collaboration. The track is available for free download from Soundcloud so get your hands on it!
