Live Review: Moonbase Commander releases the abrasive 'Greyhound' ahead of new EP

Sydney producer MOONBASE COMMANDER has released 'Greyhound', the first single to come off his latest EP, Orthodox.

Sydney producer MOONBASE COMMANDER has released 'Greyhound', the first single to come off his latest EP, Orthodox.

A heavy d'n'b inspired track, 'Greyhound' is the first original material to come from the Sydney-based artist since last year's Southpaw EP. But who can blame him? The Sydney-sider has added some pretty impressive stuff to his ever growing resume this year alone, opening for the likes of Mr Carmack, Tkay Maidza, playing at Secret Garden Fest, Groovin' The Moo, our cheeky Tenth Birthday Party, and landing a spot at next weeks Splendour in the Grass.

Of the track, Moonbase Commander comments that "'Greyhound' draws inspiration from breakbeat, jungle and d'n'b, it's a sound I've only touched on with my own music before so it was fun to get really stuck into that kind of palette." Take a listen below:

If you're one of the lucky few you can catch Moonbase Commander at the Mix Up stage at 8pm on Saturday 23rd July at Splendour in the Grass. His 'Orthodox' EP will also be out soon via October Records.
