MO has teamed up with Diplo to give us a mixture of genres in a track called 'XXX 88'.
When you've been touted as the 'new GRIMES', what do you think goes through someones head? Karen Marie Ørsted is the one who has been giving this most gracious, albeit odd label.
MØ's electronic taste strays to an area where hip hop has quite an influence. The vocals are similar of course, MØ doesn't go as high as GRIMES, but there's no smoke without fire, I'm guessing the vocals are the fire.
MØ has come into her own with her recent releases, 'XXX 88' is definitely one we'll be hearing a lot more of. Her wonderful vocals dance a top those hip hop infused synths I mentioned earlier, which here have actually been provided by DIPLO.

The whole track feels like it branches into a bunch of different genres really. It's this combination that makes 'XXX 88' good to listen to and enjoy. I like how the track doesn't try hard to stay in one certain genre, but then MØ can really belt out a tune so she's kind of in a league of her own anyway.
