We LOVE a strong debut, and that's exactly what we're premiering here today at Purple Sneakers.
Melbourne's MELISSA RAMSAY is coming to us today with her achingly crushing debut, 'Halo'. Produced by Hayden Jeffery, who has also worked with artists like Woodes and Wolfjay, the track sees her croon powerfully atop a minimal percussive set, giving us nothing but tough-as-nails pop in this stellar debut.
It's soul-tinged, minimal electronic at its best. The production ebbs and flows, allowing for her glorious vocal to soar throughout this one. The two work in tandem to build up a crushing vibe that eventuates into something more than your standard electro-pop track. There's emotionality embedded into every second of this track, and the songwriting alone makes this song a standout.

Although this is her debut solo release, she's been working hard collaborating with other artists like Feenixpawl, and Just A Gent on his track ‘Loaded’. She headed to Splendour In The Grass over the weekend to perform her collab with JAG live too.
The track's an incredibly relatable one, with Ramsay saying:
“’Halo’ is about entering your mid-twenties and reflecting on your wrong doings, bad decisions and striving to be a better person. It’s about feeling like you’re the worst person on earth and trying to convince yourself that you’re actually not; you’re just human like everyone else”.
