Fresh Finds: Class Of 2025 – Aussie Acts To Add To Your Playlist

Live Review: Listen to Mallrat's deep desire to be 'Uninvited'

MALLRAT is possibly one of the best things that happened in 2015, which is only proven by exactly what is going on in her world in 2016. This talented little Millennial has returned with an exceptional piece of social commentary in the form of her track ‘Uninvited’.

MALLRAT is possibly one of the best things that happened in 2015, which is only proven by exactly what is going on in her world in 2016. This talented little Millennial has returned with an exceptional piece of social commentary in the form of her track ‘Uninvited’.

‘Uninvited’ isn’t actually the type of Mean Girls-esque theme you might imagine. It is in fact Mallrat’s take on not wanting to have to go to parties and events full of fake and boring people. The chorus repeats over and over again ‘get me off the list’, as she expresses not wanting to have to talk to people who pretend to know her.

This track shows another side to Mallrat’s singing talent. She has a sort of half rap, half MC voice in many of her tracks, but in ‘Uninvited’ she also shows off her whispy singing voice alongside some funky, but minimalistic percussion and synthy sounds.

Mallrat regularly teams up with Tigerilla and Casper Zazz on the production front, who help transport her MC/Rap/Vocals into electro-pop/funky/genius pieces of music.

‘Uninvited’ is the title track from Mallrat’s debut EP. Thoroughly suggest getting yourself a copy of this one from stat. Without a doubt the best $4.99 you will spend this year.
