LUCIANBLOKAMP may seem like an eyeful and mouthful of letters to say, but if this single 'Help Me Out' is to foretell the artist's future direction - we should get practicing with the name's pronunciation.
An amalgamation of his first and last name, Lucian Blomkamp is a 20 year old Melbourne producer who's set to drop his debut record, Post-Nature, on August 15 through Remote Control. The nine-tracked release features 'Help Me Out', the first single and taste tester of what's to come.
Borrowing from several genre categories, LUCIANBLOMKAMP sets his stylings across a spectrum of influences, meshing both samples and live instrumentations into his craft.
'Help Me Out' showcases this trait, with it's interweaving of organic and electronical sounds. Its crisp, static-y introduction is thick with adorning baritone vocals, building on the natural sounds only to drop into a staggered, delayed synth portion. As this interplay of segments continues throughout the track, a new element is suddenly added as a fan-freaking-tastic woodwind solo rings through the track's outro.

Fragmented and rooted in the experimental side of things, Blomkamp's genre-bending stylistics and diverse musical appreciation could only serve as an interesting basis for a debut release.
