Live Review: Joywave 'Tongues' (Giorgio Moroder Remix)

Giorgio Moroder is officially back because now he's released a brand new remix into the world.

You may have noticed a few days ago that we posted the new music video of GIORGIO MORODER's music video '74 Is The New 24'.

After 30 years the producer has emerged back onto the electronic scene and is about to release a new album that we couldn't be more excited about. Releasing '74 Is The New 24' means that this guy obviously has some game left in him and if his new remix of JOYWAVE's track 'Tongues' is proof enough, then well you must be insane.

The original mix of 'Tongues' is pretty catchy as it is. With an early 90's nostalgia pumping throughout it, 'Tongues' embodies a similar energy that COLLARBONES' 'Turning' does. Chopped vocals create a groovy melody with twinkling synths, a speedy snare and vocals that echo like ghosts throughout the track. 'Tongues' is a great track in itself and becomes quite infectious the more you listen to it, but if you needed a banger of a party track, MORODER's got you covered.

A few of the chopped vocals that helped create the melody of JOYWAVE's mix for 'Tongues' are present in MORODER's remix, but don't come into full force until a little bit later in the track. The vocal track stays intact but with a harder beat throbbing underneath the vocals and thick house synths making the track sound so much heavier, you can tell that MORODER has got some pretty big intentions for this track.

MORODER's remix is explosive. It sounds so much fuller than the original and like something we could really rock out too whilst dancing the night away.
