JENSEN INTERCEPTOR has released ‘Mother’, the title track from his upcoming debut album (out November 4th via Spanish label Lone Romantic). For this Sydney-sider, also known as Mikey Melas, the project has been a long time coming after years in the industry and several shorter releases under his belt. It’s a natural step up, both sonically and career-wise, for the artist and we’ve only had a lick of the full schmozzle so far.

Allegedly set to be one of the most melodic tracks off the LP, 'Mother’ offers relentless arpeggiations fortified by 303 beats and atmospheric echoing. Some strategic wee-woo-ing and a pokey bass-line add an element of fun to the mix without detracting from the tune’s overall richness, which rounds out the total sound to great effect.

It’s a fitting ode to the woman who brought him into the world, bearing both tender and firm elements that stand to be an aural reference to any loving mum. Following the release of previous single and LP inclusion ‘Time Echo’, featuring collaborator The Hacker, ‘Mother’ is a great indication of Melas’s ability to forge diverse tracks with his singular electro-toolbox through the alteration of balances of pitch, tempo and tone.
