Live Review: Jax Jones ‘Go Deep’

Jax Jones' sunny new original track titled ‘Go Deep’ is out now through Blasé Boys Club (Duke Dumont’s label).

After collaborating with DUKE DUMONT for one of 2014’s biggest tracks ‘I Got You’, South London producer JAX JONES has found his feet and put out an original that would even make the sun smile.

JAX JONES’ new original track titled ‘Go Deep’ is out through label Blasé Boys Club (DUKE DUMONT’s label). Sampling JANET JACKSON’s vocals, JAX JONES has concentrated a disco-esque keyboard melody towards the pop icon’s vocals, thus creating an upbeat tango of sounds.

It does well to instigate variety, with multiple hooks chain-linking to each other to progress back to that ever-present euphoric rush of energy. The track’s unquestionable confidence is actually quite surprising, and is very refreshing in its demeanour.

JAX JONES has ultimately created an anthem for the 90’s, but it’s distinctive in the way he’s tied elements of disco, nu wave, dance and house together to create something that the 90’s hadn’t found.

Go deep, no sleep.
