Live Review: JAWZ ‘Vertex’

Hebinomichi family man JAWZ may hail from Sydney, but his presence on the internet has been worldwide. He’s come a long way since he debuted, and he’s proven to be an unstoppable force of huge beats and incredible hooks.

His latest single ‘Vertex’ encompasses all of this. It’s bold, confident and makes an intense statement that feels so polished and well crafted.

‘Vertex’ is a digital vortex of what literally sounds like glitter. It’s glitchy, warped and drenched in colours. If JAWZ is fantastic at anything, I would say it’s his attentiveness to rather incredulous details.

It’s the little things that make this track so huge. The selective percussion at intermittent moments, the use of vocals as an instrument rather than a feature and of course, the incredible tones emanating from this one.

The Sydney producer is on his way to big things this year, and if ‘Vertex’ is any indication of the path he’s taking, we’re excited.
