Live Review: IYES 'No Love'

Brighton's IYES have shed light on 'No Love'; the closing track of their Part One EP.

Josh Christopher and Melis Soyaslanová make up English duo, IYES. Meeting at a party over a year ago, the two formed the project and have been melting hearts ever since. Recently releasing their first EP, Part One, the pair have since cast attention on its closing track, 'No Love'.

After the beat ladden progression of the first two tracks, IYESPart One rounds out with this angelic slow-burner, 'No Love'. A weeping guitar bleeds a rather sorrowful melody as the hands of its master repeatedly work their way down the frets of its neck. Paired with the tear-jerkingly beautiful voice of Soyaslanová, Christopher's distant chant, and the empty windows that depict the humble workings of a home recording and you've got a luciously bittersweet tale to wrap up an impressive packet of tunes from a very promising outfit.

'No Love' features on IYESPart One EP, available to stream via Love By Mistake.

Words by Hannah Galvin.
