So many people have covered DRAKE's instant classic 'Hold On We're Going Home'. BLOOD ORANGE did a wonderful rendition and LOUIS LA ROCHE produced another, and you obviously can't deny the brilliance of the original track.
HOLY GHOST! have now decided that since they already have their own track entitled 'Hold On', that their cover of DRAKE's instant classic would just be stupid not to release.
They have made their cover a little bit different from the others, which is probably a good thing considering how many covers there actually are out there. HOLY GHOST! have channeled ye olde 'Sexual Healing' for their smooth disco melody that flow thought the cover. It's a 70s inspired dance track that we all already know the words to, but can enjoy it in a different way.
Alex Frankel has done wonderful things to the vocals on 'Hold On We're Going Home', they echo throughout the track with as much reverb as you need to make it sound almost ghostly, but not quite. The kick and handclaps make everything sound like they have come from the deep past, it's a wonderful thing to listen too. This cover is a great smooth dance track that would be wonderful for an afternoon of bliss.
HOLY GHOST! just performed on American television and are currently on tour, so we can safely say that HOLY GHOST! are hard at work doing wonderful things out in the world. A recent remix of an track that the duo did has been spreading around like wildfire so if you stumble across it, check that out too because it's a pretty fun remix.
