Live Review: LISTEN: Francesca Belcourt 'Tizzy' (Heartbeat(s) Remix)

Vancouver-based Ex-LOL BOYS member and heartthrob HEARTBEAT(S), also known as Markus G to his mum, has been steadily increasing his reputation as a stonking great solo beat producer over the past year. His latest offering is a remix of singer-songwriter FRANCESCA BELCOURT's 'Tizzy.' And boy, talk about them feels.

HEARTBEAT(S)' remix of 'Tizzy' spins FRANCESCA BELCOURT's silky and lusty voice into a hazy R&B-tinged slowjam enveloped in rolling 808 sub bass. As per-usual there are luscious remants of 80's synth pads lofting about the track amongst BELCOURT's vocal cuts.

HEARTBEAT(s) is an enigmatic producer when it comes to his style. There is something concrete about his sounds, yet everything is slightly different and constantly evolving. Melting sensibilities of jazz, hip-hop and 90's internet-birth nostalgia into one another, he is creating something altogether off-cuff and experimental, whilst keeping a certain comfortable familiarity with his tunes.

For instance, HEARTBEAT(S) dropped this feel-inducing edit of the killer track 'Will I Come' from KING KRULE's latest record. The producer describes the track with the words 'ASL Singles Club', couldn't agree more. Check it out:
