A few months ago, Canadian beatsmith FELIX CARTAL released his Past Present Felix EP. The four-track release closed with 'New Scene' which has since been remixed by TOKiMONSTA.
Experiencing a slight shift in mood, TOKiMONSTA paints a new picture with the instrumentation chosen in her rendition of 'New Scene'. Exchanging high pitched melodies and hand-snaps for rigid synth lines, TOKiMONSTA has allowed the same vocal structure, taken control by the original's vocalist Ofelia.
This has allowed the lyrics to be considered in a much darker tone, as they pull a heavier weight behind them with the gloomy backdrop actively filling the void. If you're all for frenetic melodies and and synth samples over punchy beats then this remix of Felix Cartal's 'New Scene' is definitely for you!
