Live Review: Dark0 'Abrasion'

Taken off his, Solace EP, for RINSE, London techno/grime lord DARK0 gives us his lead track 'Abrasion'.

It seems this UK producer is aiming to break away from his traditional instrumental aesthetic and work towards more serious terrain,  with a 3 minute 21 second journey through the complexities of the human pysche. Sheading light on aspects of claustrophobia, frustration and ambition, Dark0 uses 'Abrasion' to tell us more about himself as an artist. A producer trying to break molds and create a new wave of experimental grime.

'Abrasion' has a more cinematic feel towards production compared to his previous work. It's a profound soundscape of sorts, that ebs and flows between various emotional states and tells a story.

"One that would start with nostalgia, take you through my ever-changing influences and leave you with a memento. A song to tell you that there's so much more to me than being some 'instrumental grime' producer, or even some joker, and that I have my own story, through which I've crafted my own sound." - Dark0.
