Originally coming out in 2011, Oakland-based musician, Danny James Etc.’s album ‘PEAR’ gas just been released on vinyl, cassette and CD last week via Burger Records.
From that album comes ‘Tight Lipped’, with tones and grooves that could easily fit in with 70’s soul and funk, Danny James celestial voice that rises above the mellow clouds of sound and the glam rock guitar harmonies and you come out with something that redefines the concept of retro.
It took about four years, with test pressings coming out originally in 2012, then 2 and a half years later the finished super deluxe pull-out pear cover, But Burger Records finally managed to pull it off.
"This garage-pop-electro-space-funk hodgepodge" (Todd Simmons,3Hive), Danny James has created, is one of the most sonically pleasing albums so far this year.
