Originally, 'Missing' by Collarbones is a haunting, carefully layered piece embracing the falsetto vocals of a pour your heart out RnB song. Rather than giving the track a complete makeover and running the risk of it being expressionless, AA4 (the new pseudonym for producer NYC producer Alec Feld aka EXPENSIVE LOOKS) has taken the eerie persona and transformed it into a ghoul like creature. Channelling an analogue style of sound the remix conjures up thoughts of whacky old school arcade games.
While maintaining some of the original niceties, a soft and suspenseful progression is added, embodying one of the best characters of house music. Blend in some echoing vocals, staccato percussion and psychedelic ambience and you have a pretty unique individual who's mysterious and intriguing eyes capture even the most innocent of people. AA4's remix of 'Missing' is intoxicating and one in which you become wholly absorbed by its voyeuristic atmosphere.
