Scottish trio CHVRCHES have caused quite a stir in the blogosphere, why you ask? Well because their synth driven tracks have just blown everyone away.
Describing themselves as simply ‘electro-pop’, CHVRCHES have had their fair share of publicity since releasing their single ‘Lies’ earlier this year. The track is a tsunami of synths with lead singer Lauren Mayberry calming the rapid electro force with her sweet-as-candy voice.
The band played their first gig at the Art School in Glasgow and boy was it an event. Lauren Mayberry seems petite beside her fellow band members but with a voice like hers, she seems magnificent. You can watch the band’s performance of ‘Lies’ on their Tumblr in a video by photographer Allan Roney, and seriously, it’s going to make you want to see this band live so badly.
CHVRCHES have released a new single entitled ‘The Mother We Share’, and if you loved their first installment, this track will have you wanting so much more. Resplendent, lyrical electro-pop is one way of describing the track, as the twinkling keyboards and padded drum beats accompany Lauren Mayberry’s ethereal vocals on a musical journey through your mind.

The track shows the world that CHVRCHES is slowly taking over and soon they’ll be everywhere and we will be ecstatic about the entire ordeal. Who wouldn’t want a neon sound that is CHVRCHES playing constantly in their ears? Someone insane most probably. ‘The Mother We Share’ will be released in November which isn’t far away so if you’re like me and have become totally addicted – of which I assume you either have or will soon be- then join with me as we play ‘The Mother We Share’ on replay for the next few days.
