CHASING KURT is the deep musical baby of Pascal Blanché, Wojtek Kutschke and Lukas Poloczek.
As the tale goes, Kutschke and Blanché were house aficionados for years and only found the missing piece to the puzzle when Kutschke - having finished a DJ set at a bar in his hometown - heard Poloczek singing whilst closing.
After asking Poloczek to join in on some musical sessions, they found the right fit and CHASING KURT was born. 2013 saw the german trio's track 'From The Inside' be touted as one of the year's most anthemic house tune. Now, CHASING KURT's song has been revitalised and re-birthed into this Australian remix by Sydney duo SET MO.
Nick Drabble and Stu Turner under the moniker of SET MO have already been dubbed by the blogosphere as producers to watch in 2014. With an ever-growing body of work comprising of originals and remixes, the duo have turned the original's urban groove into a world of tres-chic, deep house vibes.
The original's fleeting synths in between each piano chord progression is downplayed in this remix, with chopped vocal samples and pulsating low end beats taking its place. A little over six minutes, SET MO's remix is a sly one with subtle swells and calculated musical climaxes that's never overtly exaggerated; the pair definitely know how to play it cool.
