BLONDE REDHEAD are having a very wild time at the moment. With their recent collaboration with NOSAJ THING and a new album on the way, there's really no way you'll be getting them to slow down.
The three piece have released a new single today called 'No More Honey' and it's exactly the kind of thing you'd like to hear when feeling very out-of-sorts.
The feeling of the new track brings off a kind of distorted vibe with the guitars feeling sharp quick. BLONDE REDHEAD have always had a very angular way of presenting their tracks and 'No More Honey' is just another offering where we can sit back and listen to the jagged melody.
Opening with some very deep percussion and synth samples, 'No More Honey' begins very softly. Kazu Makino's vocals swiftly glide throughout the track and she sound light and delicate as always. Her voice echoes throughout the track brining an almost ghostly element to the track, which is an interesting piece to add. This element strongly contrasts the twisting guitar licks and the heavy thud of the drums behind her. The different textures in the track definitely keep you hooked in, with a very deep bass stomping through with a slight crunch, 'No More Honey' has all the making of the best song you'll hear today.
'No More Honey' is featured on the bands new forthcoming album Barragan which is due for release on September 2. If this track is anything to go by Barragan is sure to be one of the most interesting releases of the year, which is why we can;t wait for it.
