Ghanian Australian hip hop and indie act BLESSED has today shared his newest single, 'No Changes', alongside the announcement he has signed to Matt Corby's record label, Rainbow Valley Records. Acting as one of Australia's most prolific artists, BLESSED ploughed through 2021, releasing his project 'LOCKDOWN TAPES VOL.1'. With the project and his long list of songwriting credits, he continuously proves his impact and influence as one of this countries most versatile names, carving out a distinct name in the scene.
'No Changes' personifies the songwriter, producer, rapper and multi-instrumentalists talents. Conceptually, the track delves into the discourse around the state of so called "Australian" culture, and reflecting on the injustices felt commonly across the nation. The themes translate perfectly via its visual, filmed in Western Sydney/Dharug Country. It features the people that have helped BLESSED evolve into the artist he is today, broken up between footage from social justice protests and environmental devastations.
BLESSED says of the single: "'No Changes' is an anthemic commentary on what seems like an endless battle to be seen, heard and treated equally.
"A battle that all of us universally share in both communal and unique ways.
"The 'No Changes' video visually represents the everyday person and struggles within this reality. The documentary style gives the viewer an intimate glimpse into our world, filled with an arrayed with raw emotion but also with a hint of hope and optimism."
