Bounce music may not be as known here in Australia as it is over in the United States, so if you're unfamiliar with the genre, then you'll learn everything you need to know from BIG FREEDIA.
Known as the "Queen Of Bounce", BIG FREEDIA is pushing the bounce rap genre forward with heavy bass lines and thundering synths and samples. The rapper frequently tours the United States and has performed at many festivals including SXSW so if you've seen her sets before, then you'll have an idea what you're in for when you hear 'Explode'.
With FREEDA's new album Just Be Free being released in June, 'Explode' is probably the biggest track from the new LP with lyrics like "Release your anger, Release your mind, Release your job, Release the time," bursting through the track in a deep, yet explosive voice. 'Explode' is essentially a full of guts and punch which will fill you fully with energy, something many acts haven't done in a long time.
'Explode' opens with a huge vocal track bellowing "let's go" getting you hyped up before the track fully begins. A heavy bass line thuds underneath the power-filled vocals and you suddenly have the feeling that you're in for a banger of a track. The melody consists mainly of crashing synths that all work in unison to create a fiery melody that rages throughout 'Explode'. This rapper has a lot of energy in this track, which you can hear as soon as it begins, and so with an amazing opening number like this, we hope the rest of Just Be Free feels as empowering.

BIG FREEDIA's album will be released on June 17 through Queen Diva Music. Expect more big things from her as you can't get anything with as much guts as this.
