Before they release a mini-LP, Best Coast have released a new track called 'I Don't Know How'.
She's finally back! After a very long time without BEST COAST releasing any new material, we now have a cool new track to share around with you all. It's titled 'I Don't Know How' and comes flying in before the act releases the follow-up to 2012's The Only Place, which is a new mini-LP called Fade Away.
It's assumed that 'I Don't Know How' will be featured on Fade Away, as well as 'Fear My Identity' and "Who Have I Become', two tracks that were released a fair while ago.
'I Don't Know How' has been released through NPR with Wally Gagel, overseeing the production of the track and the rest of the record. The whole album is to be released through BEST COAST's front woman, Bethany Cosentino's new record label, Jewel City, which is pretty darn cool news. Now the track itself is quite lovely with Bethany's vocals soaring high with some wonderful harmonies accompanying her. Really the track has more pop roots than some of BEST COAST's previous work.

Usually we would be filing our ears with some sort of pop mixed with a surfy lo-fi garage sound, but 'I Don't Know How' sounds like the lo-fi has been turned down a notch. Not that this is a bad thing of course. 'I Don't Know How' is still a fantastic track with those harmonies floating a top a sweet guitar melody that is both light and sweet. The lyrics of course are quite sweet as well. Speaking to a love that she just can't seem to explain her feelings for, it's all quite sweet really; a great opener to a new LP.
Fade Away is to be released through Jewel City on October 22, and with material like this flooding out of her, BEST COAST has definitely got a wonderful little EP for us. Not sure why it's called a mini-LP but I'm sure it has it's reasons. It'll be a wonderful release from a wonderful songstress of whom has been quite busy over the past few months.
