Well this one has certainly jumped out of the wood work. Everyone's best friend, BECK, is back. He's back with a new track, and an announcement of two brand new albums. Big day for Beck then, ey?

Okay, okay, we may have already known that Beck was releasing a new acoustic album later this year, as he announced that he'd been working on it since 2008 about a month ago. The yet-to-be named Acoustic LP, is due out sometime in our Spring. But we wanted this post to be more special, so we squashed it in with todays news, to make SUPERNEWS.

According to Rolling Stone, 5 years since his last release of solo material, someone close to Beck has said that on top of the acoustic album, he will be releasing another LP, which will act as a proper follow up to 2008's Modern Guilt. These new albums are set to be self-released after spending years on the Universal Music roster.

You can listen to the first cut of genuine non-acoustic music from Beck in the form of 'Defriended', a track that harnesses more of the electronic side of his work, with melancholic tendencies, whirling synths and a serious Animal Collective/Panda Bear vibe.

Sadly, it is not set to be released on any of the new LP's. But even so, it's the start of another beautiful chapter of Beck's career. And considering there are rumours of another stand-alone single to come, and this is the same artist who last year released an album exclusively to song sheets - we have a feeling he has a couple more surprises up his sleeves.
