Live Review: Basenji 'Heirloom' + National Tour Dates

BASENJI has been on a roll this year and now just after his recent Valley Fiesta performance in Brisbane, the producer is heading back on the road with his new track 'Heirloom'.

Released through Future Classic, 'Heirloom' has everything we love about the young producer in one small, yet powerful, package. The deep percussion, the energetic melodies and the infectious synths all come together on this brand new track to create something that definitely has BASENJI written all over it.

BASENJI definitely has a long list of original tracks and remixes that we have already fallen in love with, such as his remix of SABLE's 'Foolin' which we still can't get enough of, and now that a new tour has been announced as well, all of Australia will be able to go out and dance to 'Heirloom' as it echoes throughout your favourite clubs.

The percussion use becomes very clear, very early on 'Heirloom' as each thwack assists in building the track up to it's unique melody that seems to use bright synths and samples to trickle downwards, like a slinky falling down stairs. It has a fun element to it making a very childlike atmosphere evident. The tune rings in your ears and makes itself at home there as the synths buzz and hum around some very deep house grooves. 'Heirloom' has a lot of layers and presents itself in a very elegant way, it shows that there is a versatility to BASENJI that we will quickly become accustomed to .
