Tasmanian local beat producer and rework wizard AKOUO (pronounced “ak-oo-oh,” for all you linguists out there) is back once again with a new rework, this time going after the LA songstress BANKS. And only a mere 2 weeks after his last remix was released on his Soundcloud, this guy is definitely putting the work out!
The orinigal BANKS track 'THIS IS WHAT IT FEELS LIKE' produced by UK producers, Polydor's Jamie Woon, and Night Slugs' Lil Silva is a dense, dark and brooding track, relying on heavy bass synths that drone throughout the track allowing BANKS to go to town with her silky and sultry dulcet vocal tones.
AKOUO shows off his skills with his rework of the BANKS track, totally switching up the vibe to a bouncy, head-nod inducing jam complete with swelling synth pads, pulsing bass stabs, chopped and pitched vocals and snappy snare rolls - all woven seamlessly into a shuffling hip-hop beat.
With his latest rework of 'THIS IS WHAT IT FEELS LIKE', AKOUO is adding to his already huge pool of original and remix material available through his soundcloud. Go check it out to hear his eclectic take on tunes by artists such as AlunaGeorge, SAFIA, Chet Faker, Drake and more.
