Norwegian producer LIDO has worked his magic on BANKS' single 'Drowning' from her forthcoming record 'Goddess'. The original track holds a moody, smoky sound with an element of resentfulness which is projected from the lyrics and resonates throughout.
While LIDO only mildly tampers with the structure of the original track, his changes and additions to what goes on around the vocals paints 'Drowning' in a completely altered light.
The track begins with a few seconds of floaty, light strings before BANKS' sultry vocals kick in. The bright strings continue to follow the vocals during the beginnings of the track and soon move into a more upbeat dance influenced feel.
The remix includes sections of intense energetic beats complete with symbol clashes and warped vocals, before it crosses back to a smoother tone with plenty of percussion. This track essentially has it all, from strings and piano to hip hop beats, all the while overlaid by the sweet sounds of BANKS.
Now available for free download on LIDO's SoundCloud, this is one not to miss.
