Barcelona's Alizzz has just dropped his fifth EP, Sunshine via Mad Decent's 'Jeffrees' imprint.
Barcelona's Cristian Quirante has endowed us with four lucrative EPs under the name ALIZZZ over the past couple of years. Having a knack for crossing genres, he's continued to do so through the release of his fifth Extended Play, Sunshine.
Kicking off with the title track, Alizzz wastes no time in exploring monstrous production in his new release. Spilling a bucket of slippery samples, bouncy beats and rich percussive elements all over the floor of the track, the artist chooses to orchestrate the colourful mess rather than mop it all up.
Combining the elements together in a way that fashions a rich and jovial array of tunes, Alizzz tightens the new track with a series of repetitive lyrics to cast a ray of what the title suggests over this stellar opening track.

Where 'Sunshine' offered ecstasy, 'I C U' welcomes emotion, as this particular organ of the EP's body approaches Alizzz's audience with a more solemn nature.
Thanks to the delivery of Santell's lush vocals against the imbalanced speed of the song's composition, there's definitely something more chilling and even heartfelt to display the life of 'I C U'. In saying that, it's highest points are festooned with bubbles, glitter and enough lasers to win an entire skirmish game.
'That Gurl' collects the themes we've heard thus far and marries them to set the tone of Sunshine's third chapter. Concocting candied synths, fluttery samples, metallic bursts of energy and punchy bass to assist the direction of the idiosyncratic vocal work, the track has ultimately employed quite the anthemic tone - probably why Wave Racer included it on his Diplo and Friends Mix for BBC Radio 1.
With our ear positioned at the bottom of the basin, 'What IF' softly opens with amplified droplets of a loose tap splashing the face of both the kid-friendly melody and female vocal work. Growing fonder of a larger soundscape, 'What IF' brightens up with hefty, zipping synth work, pounding beats and a mixed-bag of familiar samples before donning a jazzy theme to sound out Alizzz's wondrous, four-track EP.
Upwardly curling the mouths of its audience, Alizzz's Sunshine EP is now available to STREAM in its entirety via Mad Decent. Become a Mad Decent Premium signee to receive a digital download of all the label's releases HERE.
