LaurelThis short EP gives a nice insight into young London singer, songwriter and producer Laurel.
Tightly recorded echoey guitar with a distinctive vocal, there's a folkie lilt to her approach; the promise of a Beth Orton-style hybrid. Opener Maybe Baby rolls around to introduce her sound and approach, while single Hurricane develops with a catchy chorus. Too Far allows for a bit more space, with the guitars and developing percussion building to paint an interesting sonic picture. Final track Goodbye strips this all back again, effective in what it leaves out in terms of production - raw in the best way. A good soundtrack for a little late night wine and soul searching.
