This New York-based French-Iranian producer/singer/performance artist and former art gallery curator (yeah, you read that right) is Warp's second R&B signing in the past year, marking something of a shift in direction from the stables of IDM champions.
On this quick, four-song EP, the beat-dominating title track is a good place to start, but Ally comes off the more intriguing, with weird snake-charmer wooden flute riffs that propel the chorus along. Some promising beginnings, but her vocal hooks and songwriting could use a little polishing.
