After flirting with experimentation recently, the nu-metal forebears were due another "back to the roots" affair, ensuring they're neatly positioned to capitalise on the enhanced sense of nostalgia. Thus, it can feel akin to self-referential, albeit fan-satisfying and box ticking at times, like Jonathan Davis scatting or booming "go!" and the somewhat tokenistic guest spot (Corey Taylor). The heavier tack is agreeable, though, with more understated electronics. Meanwhile, Everything Falls Apart underlines their commercial potency, bridging rock radio-ready hooks with trademark intensity.
