"Self-aware and self-deprecating, this Pom is worth your while."
Starting off rather slowly, trying to relate to the audience with references to Australian places and culture (guy does a spot-on Aussie accent too) and waffling on about technophobia, Jimmy McGhie soon has us on side. Once warmed up, he runs through jokes about non-sexy relationship times, engages sheepishly with a reviewer who revealed herself (not this one), explains what a fruit corner is in a hip London “geezer” accent, and teaches us the five nods we need to know to bluff our way through an intelligent conversation. Self-aware and self-deprecating, this Pom is worth your while.
