Live Review: BIGSOUND Live: Jeremy Neale

This guy can do no wrong at the moment

More Jeremy Neale Jeremy Neale
Sometimes bigger is definitely better.

Local songsmith Jeremy Neale's solo band is rapidly expanding towards the size of his day job Velociraptor, with seven people onstage by the time he invites a female singer Phoebe up to provide sultry vocals for a couple of clearly '80s-inspired new tracks.

As with many venues in the Valley tonight, Alhambra Lounge is packed to the rafters and everyone seems completely satiated by this serving of sophisticated pop-rock, with each song packing more hooks than Rex Hunt's tackle box. This guy can do no wrong at the moment. When he closes with the effervescent In Stranger Times the whole place is dancing and it's hard to imagine a more fun place to be.
