It's Monday night and a somewhat misanthropic UK comedian, Jen Brister, asks, “What the hell are you all doing here?” After a long day at work I wonder myself. But when Brister launches into her act I'm captivated. There's shouting, fantastic impressions of her Spanish mother and intentionally less than fantastic impressions of Sean Connery. Brister enthrals us with political musings, stories of being blacklisted from gay bars, and what being middle-aged is all about, with an honesty and energy matched only by the small but appreciative audience.
