Jekyll x James: Fourth.Wall.Down

StarStarStar

"It almost makes it funnier to see Jekyll and James have such an uproarious time on stage."

The fourth wall isn't just down in Jared Jekyll and Cameron James' latest show - it's smashed.

The duo take sketch and musical comedy and extend it as far as it'll go, in equal parts discomfiting and amusing the Factory Floor crowd. A section with James as a down-and-out wedding DJ and a section on body percussion have this scribe giggling, while a few gags (Jekyll in a terrifying demon mask) fail to quite hit the mark. Their guido counterparts at the opening and close grow on us too, even as the pair fall in and out of their accents, postures and characters — it almost makes it funnier to see Jekyll and James have such an uproarious time on stage. A whole lot of fun.
