Album Review: Jasmine Rae - Heartbeat

StarStarStarHalf Star

"A slick record full of great songwriting that may even have the ability to generate some cross-over appeal."

More Jasmine Rae Jasmine Rae

Jasmine is not the largest person in any room by a long shot, but she stands tall amongst many mediocre country artists out there.

Her fourth album, Heartbeat, is a slick record full of great songwriting that may even have the ability to generate some cross-over appeal. Opening track, Everybody Wants To Take My Money is a brazen middle finger that treads a fine line between hubris and integrity, but its cinematic gospel vibe pushes it through unscathed.

Production is lush and vibrant, and standout songs like Hold My Hand and Zombie Love show she has real heart.
