"Yet another example of Immolation's well-deserved legendary status as death metal titans."

More Immolation More Immolation

It's tempting to think that if you've heard 1991's classic Dawn Of Possession LP you've experienced everything these NY death metal giants have to offer. Wrong.

Atonement is a monster of murky riffage, blasting rhythms and demons feasting on the hapless corpses of fallen angels (as one does). Unlike some of their more monotonous peers (Hate Eternal, I'm looking at you), Immolation never forget that it's about the song craft and accordingly the stomping Thrown To The Fire and the malevolent onslaught of Destructive Currents (to name a few) boast a truly visceral power. Atonement is yet another example of Immolation's well-deserved legendary status as death metal titans.
