The title and plain album cover seemed to suggest a more serious, sombre affair after their last album, but the British electronic septet has given us yet another innovative, nuanced release. “You make my heart feel like it’s my brain” Alexis Taylor sings on Started Right, summarising the band’s earnest approach to music-making. There are highlights, from the tender White Wine And Fried Chicken and the sublime Need You Now, to the joyful Easy To Get. Hot Chip still grapple with issues of the heart, but they’re just as lovely as ever.
