Live Review: BIGSOUND Live: Hits

Dirty is the new clean.

Local rock dogs HITS play a hometown showcase and prove their fearsome credentials from the get-go with the opening one-two salvo of Never Sing This Song Again and the catchy-as-fuck Loose Cannons. Frontman Evil Dick is in fine voice and as charismatic as ever but it's the guitars and amazing backing vocals of Tamara Dawn Bell and Stacey Coleman which really elevate this mob above the throng.

The rhythm section more than carry their weight too, making HITS a scarily brutal ensemble, but ultimately it's the brilliance of tunes like Bitter And Twisted, Jesus F Christ, Disappointed and their incendiary cover of Laughing Dogs I Need A Million which hammer home their rock radness.
