Album Review: Gruff Rhys - American Interior

Few places are as proud of their culture as Wales and it appears nothing's changed in 200 years, as ex-Super Furry Animal Gruff Rhys has based his fourth solo album on the story of his distant relative John Evans and his dumb gallant quest to find a rumoured Welsh-speaking tribe of Native Americans in the US. The source material has enough inspiration – from crocodile wrestling to war – to justify a book, film, app (everything has one these days) and his grandest, most adventurous solo work to date.
