Album Review: Glen Hansard - A Season On The Line

StarStarStarStar

"'A Season On The Line' is Hansard as eclectic and fantastic as ever."

With the voice of a classic rock 'n' roller, folk sensibilities in his song writing, and a strong connection to his Irish roots, the music of Glen Hansard has always been a genre all of its own.

Add to that a blues edge and a soul horn section that sounds like it's straight out of the '60s, and A Season On The Line is Hansard as eclectic and fantastic as ever. It might only be four songs recorded in a single day, but there's nothing slight or tossed off about his collection. If anything, that efficiency in the studio makes this EP feel all the more fresh.
