It's been a while since we've heard from ex-CRAYON FIELDS member GEOFFREY O'CONNOR. With his track 'Jacqueline' making a huge mark on the electronic front, O'CONNOR was being played left right and centre, plus being remixed by Sydney dudes CLUBFEET.
The hiatus was of course for recording and writing purposes and now we have a brand new track from the producer called 'Her Name On Every Tongue'.
When 'Jacqueline' first arose, we heard a very heavy disco influence, however this time around things feel a lot calmer. On 'Her Name On Every Tongue', we've swapped the hit-hitting snares for something a little more atmospheric. Silky synths glide through the track with the beat being created by deep drum beat, the track seems to be very tame and holds blends a lot of softer tone to create it's melody. GEOFFREY O'CONNOR has created a very velvety track that seems to flow seamlessly out of your speakers, and if you're looking for something else to keep your O'CONNOR fix going, check out the accompanying video clip for 'Her Name On Every Tongue'.
The video features O'CONNOR himself playing a majority of it's lead characters, Eddie Murphy style. The producer not only acted in the clip, but he also directed, produced, graded and edited it all himself so his entire vision could be realised. The video features O'CONNOR as a prison guard, prisoner, executive, painter and astronaut and is set out as a series of news stories all relating to a girl named Isis, who was recently pronounced dead.
The video and single definitely showcases all of GEOFFREY O'CONNOR's creativity and presents a very wide view of 'Her Name On Every Tongue'. O'CONNOR has a new album called Fan Fiction being released on August 8 through Chapter Music. If this track is anything to go by, Fan Fiction will be filled with artistic tracks and videos just like this , which we can't wait for.
