Gen Fricker is delightfully, endearingly weird, and her new show, Monsterpussy, is a great reflection of that.
Fricker and her charming delivery make the show feel more intimate and genuine than most and her absurd anti-humour speaks to the souls of us select weirdos in the audience. Despite a broken arm rendering a large chunk of guitar/piano-based material unusable, Fricker did well to compensate: her few musical pieces were teasingly good, and her self-deprecating tales were fantastically dark.
